Jhane to Receive
2004 Calibre Lifetime Achievement Award
From November 10, 2003 International Interior Design Association Press Release:

The Southern California Chapter of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) is proud to announce the date for the fifteenth annual 2004 Calibre Awards. The black-tie dinner and awards presentation will once again be held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 from 6:00-11:00 pm.

This year, the Lifetime Achievement Award honoree is Jhane Barnes, founder of Jhane Barnes Textiles in New York. Jhane's many years of groundbreaking design contributions in the fields of fashion, furniture, carpeting and textiles will be recognized with this special award presentation.

The Calibre Awards were created in 1989 to honor companies in allied professions who exhibited a high standard of quality within the design industry and who supported the effort to increase public awareness of design as well as having demonstrated concern and support for quality design on an ongoing basis. The Awards have evolved to the current format of honoring entire project teams.

An important component of the Calibre Awards program is the awarding of significant scholarships to local interior design students, based upon interviews and portfolio reviews.
