New Carpet Collection for Collins & Aikman
Collins & Aikman Carpets by Jhane

Jhane Barnes and Collins & Aikman introduced a collection of carpeting at NeoCon:
Tangent, from the Jhane Barnes collection, takes the diagonal grid of Square Root and reduces it before combining it with another small-scale diagonal to produce a subtle, net-like weave effect that holds the interest without overwhelming the eye. Also meant to be quarter turned, the diagonal orientation of the Tangent pattern allows it to create a similar, though much more understated, pinwheel effect at every other four corner meeting point. Created from the same colors as Square root and Binary, Tangent provides a subtler and more elegant textural interpretation of the dynamic Square Root graphic.

Jhane Barnes continues to bring fresh styles to the floor with Square Root, part of a collection featuring the Tangent and Binary designs. Square root appears as a series of diagonal stripes of varying widths that intersect at the edges of quarter turned tiles to create large, complex patterns on the floor. The combination of barberpoles and space-dyed yarns forms a subtle modulation of color to serve as counterpoint for the alternating diagonals. The effect of the quarter turned installation varies from pinwheels to random striping for a dynamic and graphic look on the floor.

Unlike its cousins, Square Root and Tangent, the Binary product from the Jhane Barnes collection is designed to give a monolithic look to the floor. Combining the same yarns used in those more graphic products, Binary relies on its tufting pattern to create a beautiful and sophisticated texture that loses none of its visual appeal by being a bit more understated. Available in tiles or roll goods, Binary can work alone or as a fitting compliment to Tangent or Square Root to create a beautiful floor in a variety of interior settings.
