November, 2010

Welcome!

nathan-3484-blockbuster-cover

Hi, it's Jhane.

Brrrr. It's getting cold out in New York.

I don't know about you, but I always turn to my favorite sweater when the temperature drops. And just in time for the holiday season, I'm offering a special sale on sweaters. The week of November 29th, all sweaters in my online store are $35 off. What's more, from now until the end of the year, I am offering free ground shipping (US only) on all online items!

Besides sweaters, new shirts are also now online, like Blockbuster, pictured at left.

As always, I love hearing from you, so don't hesitate to email me at jhane@jhanebarnes.com.

Enjoy!

- Jhane

All Sweaters $35 Off + Free Shipping

All sweaters in my online store are $35 off the week of November 29th. And ground shipping within the United States is free (on all items, not just on sweaters).

Here are some designs I think you will love:

Shortrow Mousse

Stripes of burgundy, amethyst and lapis interrupt a cocoa heather yarn in Shortrow Mousse. An occasional solid black chenille yarn adds texture and shine. With jewel tone accents on a dark ground, "Shortrow Mousse" captures the celebratory spirit of the holidays.

Bump

At first glance, "Bump" looks like a solid black sweater. But if you look closely, the mix of chenille, merino wool, and stretch rayon-nylon yarns creates a contrast between shiny and matte blacks. The sweater does in fact have bumps. These ridges are the result of a 3-dimensional bump stitch that creates a shallow texture.

Chain Cable (caramel)

"Chain Cable" is my own version of a conventional cable. The caramel version uses a space dye yarn with blips of gold, ciel, navy and sienna. These shots of brightness contrast with black, charcoal, and caramel boucle yarns. The variation in color from the space dye yarn creates horizontal movement, while the chain cable adds a strong vertical motif.

Chain Cable (burgundy)

"Chain Cable" in burgundy is a clay-like color with contrasting grey and black yarns.

A Wonderful New Shirt

Blockbuster

In shirts, I absolutely love "Blockbuster." This double woven jacquard fabric uses yoroke, a Japanese weaving technique. I started with a hard-edged, geometric design, and then added yoroke, which causes the threads to wiggle and create sinuous lines. I love the contrast of sharp-edged figures with curving threads.

These are just a few of my new online store offerings, which will help you party in comfort and style as we head towards the holidays.

Hoping You Had a Wonderful Thanksgiving!

Nathan, Tim, and Jhane

Here I am with two of my favorite models, Nathan, at left, and Tim. We were at my house recently doing a photo shoot for my Holiday/Resort line.

We're actually standing on my roof, but don't worry - I have a flat roof. In fact, my husband and I were planning to camp out on our property with our dogs for Thanksgiving, but the forecast called for rain, so we decided to pitch a tent on the roof. It was a blast!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
