Jhane's Spring 2004 line is full of mystique and color, with surprise details such as unexpected textures, curvy and reversible stripes. This season adds a special quality to the wearer, a keen sense of power with a dash of springtime fun. The color palette ranges from smoky cobalt blues, citrus greens, buttery yellows and tans, to the not-so-traditional black and white.

Jhane divides her sportswear collection into three distinct themes, encompassing clean modern lines for urban dressing, updated signature looks, and softer styling for smart casual weekends. Here is how they are defined:

CITY MODERN: Trend

• Embracing the newest techniques and the most forward yarns, weaves and fabrics. High-twist silk knit tees and iridescent Tencel are added to the mix.
• Shapes are a little dressier, a little sleeker. And, definitely sexy.
• Designs are monochromatic, with an emphasis on subtle textures and touchable, yet clean surfaces.
• "Trend" is architectural rather than emotional.

• Statement patterns; graphic complexity
• Color combinations are slightly muted, with complex layers of shades "floating" on neutral grounds and print effects softened in special resin finishes.
• "Clips" of deco yarns add modern tactile appeal to woven shirts
• Look for the best seller triacetate-blend sportcoat in a lean, three-button model with "secret agent" pockets inside.
• Great fitting bottoms mix and match.
• Always appropriate, but never quite expected.

• A palette stolen from summer in the Mediterranean: Azure, lapis, turquoise, olive, coral, bone white sand and blistering heat.
• The attitude is playful but knowing; subtle puckering, sear-suckering, hidden patterns within patterns.
• Laid-back luxury with an injection of wit and smarts.
