Spring 2007 - A Season of Discovery and Rediscovery

Every season I like to choose a design inspiration, something that gives a focus to the season, and also gets my design team working toward a common goal.

In my Spring 2007 line, I decided to revisit an inspiration, fractals, that I used about ten years ago. I love the way fractals look, but they are challenging to use in fabric design.

I also incorporated some new weaving techniques, like "push-pull." I am fascinated by this technique, for two reasons. First, it produces intriguing color and texture effects in fabric, that cannot be made in any other way. Second, I don't know how it's done! The company that produces the fabric won't say how it's done, which drives me crazy! Clever people that they are, they know that this mystery is a good sales approach.
