Jhane's Take on the Ceramic Coasters

I replaced the earlier corkwood coasters for two very practical reasons: they faded when left near a window, and my Italian Greyhound could chew and destroy them with alarming efficiency.

The ceramic coasters solve both problems.

The color is richer and deeper, and these won’t fade with light exposure. They’re also very durable in normal use—unless you drop one on a stone floor, in which case ceramic will behave like ceramic.

They have a nice weight, which I appreciate. They stay put instead of sliding around, and the cork backing protects the surface underneath. One detail I really like is that the print runs slightly over the edge, so there’s no white ring on the top surface—the design feels complete rather than framed.

From the side, the ceramic is mostly white, though in some areas you can see a faint “ghost” of the pattern. It’s subtle, but it’s there, and I prefer to mention it rather than pretend it isn’t.

These are straightforward, rich and beautiful, long-lasting coasters that fix the real problems I had with the earlier version—and that’s why they’re the ones I kept.
